Sarah
chases the Sauran henchmen until they vanish into the
undergrowth. Suddenly, a huge metallic Dragoon-Fly swoops down
and opens fire!
Sarah dodges the shots and manages to bite off a wing with her Metalsaur. It spirals away into the trees.
Pushing through the overgrowth reveals ancient, overgrown ruins,
arranged like a fortress... or an arena. No sign of the Saurans
though.
The others soon catch up. DW-40 finds an old, faded
poster... It seems, before their Exodus from Earth, some humans
were treating Melinzerg as their personal playground.
Chet climbs up vines and over the wall, and drops down to the other side to look for a door.
Talos decides to make his own entrance, expertly prying a panel off the wall like a garage door.
The courtyard beyond is filled with overgrown scrap. But as they begin looting, more Dragoon-Flies attack!
Sarah's Metalsaur manages to
wall-jump into biting range, while Chet uses all four arms to shoot the
others down with scrap rifle and slingshot.
In the next courtyard, DW-40 finds a familiar wreck- a Mk 40 Cancan
automated ammunition drone- from his home dimension of Hellborg!
He sets to work salvaging parts.
The crew finally reach a large ramp leading underground. Sarah's
claustrophobia kicks in, so she volunteers to stay as a rear guard.
The others plunge into the rusty, foetid depths. Along the walls are cell doors. Ellie peers inside...
A corroded Arachnomech inside leaps at the door, attempting to escape its prison!
Other cells contain strange beasts, Carnosaurs, and worse.
Outside, a Sauran patrol
approaches. Sarah hides behind her Metalsaur, and her cohorts do
a surprising job of convincing the patrol that they belong here.
The Saurans chitter that the main event will be starting soon, and scurry off.
Underground, the crew hack their way into the final cell, to find Marden Tannhauser inside!
He claims to be held prisoner under someone named "King Rex"s orders, and forced to develop dangerous warp technology.
Whether true or not, the crew take Marden into custody and head back out of the compound.
That is, until they run into a heavily armed Sauran patrol!
