PART 1-  DASHBALL

PLANET BATORA, BALARANT UNION FRONTIER WORLD
Batora was at one time a strategically located world that the Gilgamesh and Balarant fought over.   But now it is mostly forgotten, a world of jungles and rivers and mountains of little value in the closing days of the war.

LOWDEN RIVER VALLEY
Lowden is one of many river valleys, site of an abandoned Gilgamesh military base now claimed (but barely staffed) by a lone Balarant soldier.   Downstream of Libertine base, a trading town known as Lowden Port, where miners, fishermen, and traders pass the time watching their favorite sport: Dashball.

LOWDEN BATTLING ARENA

L to R:
Aisha Schroeder, Balarant soldier and acting Sheriff of Lowden Port.  Aisha decides to try out Dashball, but chooses a loaner Purple Bear AT so she isn't recognized by the crowd.
Orbin Sockitus, Smuggler.  No one knows how he lost his arm or got a bionic replacement.  He enters the Dashball tournament in his Octova light AT and runs a gambling racket on the side.
Murphy, Jijirium Miner.  Although the Waiguai Mining Corporation abandoned Lowden, Murphy is convinced there's still Jiririum in the hills.  He joins the Dashball tournament in his Mining AT, a modified Wild Ox.
Demi, resident Dashball champion.  She uses her custom Dashy Dog light AT to outrun the competition.
And in the foreground, Quinn, who runs the battling arena where Dashball is played.  The ball in Dashball is, of course, a huge spiky metal sphere that must be carried across the field and returned to your goal to score.

The dashball arena is an abandoned cistern, ideal for containing the mayhem of battling and AT sports.

Some of the more enthusiastic spectators sit dangerously close to the action.

The two teams clash over one of the bridges.  In addition to outrunning your opponents, you can also Arm Punch, throw, or slam them, or even hurl the Dashball into them!

Demi makes a mad dash for the goal while Murphy holds up Aisha in the background.

The winning point is scored!  But Quinn rakes in the Gildan in entrance fees, and all contestants manage to make some money on the side thanks to Orbin's racketeering.
