RUINED BUILDINGS
This ruined chapel started as a porcelain "Christmas Village" cathedral decoration.  Porcelain is extremely hard to work with, but the detail level, architectural style, and approximate scale make decorations such as these a good starting point for Mordheim terrain.  Using techniques described in the Mordheim How-To page , I was able to turn it into the ruined building you see here!

This shows the (relatively unmodified) front of the Chapel building.  Most of the colors are the original paint on the Christmas Village piece, enhanced with dark brown washes and some drybrushing to highlight the edges.

This aerial shot shows two houses side by side.  Note that both of these pieces have a tunnel running through the middle- I built out the bridging section of the building with a level floor (originally curved) to ensure models could move between the two sections inside.  Split levels and bridging sections allow you to have interiors at different heights without having to expose two floors directly above one another.

For more medieval urban decay,   be sure to check out the cathedral ruins too!
